Oat Mask

Sometimes you're sitting at home doing nothing but eating, watching TV or reading (I just described my daily routine to you guys) and you feel the need to treat yourself with a mask. Here's one I learned from my Abu, she uses it at least three times per week and believe me, her skin looks awesome! It's also pretty easy to make and the ingredients are already waiting for you in the kitchen, so there's no excuse to not try it out!

You'll need:

  • 1/2 cup of oats
  • 1/4 water
  • 2 tsp of honey

Steps:
  1. Measure your oats and place them in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Pour into the oats your water and honey.
  3. Using a spoon, incorporate all the ingredients until you have a paste-like consistency.

Application:

Before avoiding any messy situations hold your hair up in a bun or a pony tail. Apply your mask to a makeup-free face using your fingers or the spoon you used to mix. Keep the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes (I keep it for 13!), relax, then rinse it off with warm water and dry it off with a towel.

Fewer things nourish the skin like oatmeal, it gives your skin a natural glow and softness. Oats contain saponins (chemical compound used to make soap), they help remove dirt from your pores. And honey may be super sweet to you but it doesn't behave that way with bacteria nor acne, honey is a natural antibiotic, so combined with oatmeal's moisture-adding properties and honey's meanness, this mask gives your skin a natural soft glow!

PS: its super fun to walk around your house with the mask on, the horror-struck faces are priceless.
